Honestly, I thought I would put this out early. Thought wrong and turns out I am lazier than Racattack. Well, either way, here is the first of an experimental new ScratchCast episode, where we talk about news. Recorded on January 22, Ryan, Don, and I talked about recent events; well, recent when we recorded the podcast. Like the debut of the new DC Comics logo that is now 100% official and not a Bleeding Cool rumor. We discuss the fall of SOPA and PIPA, which gives us an excuse and segway to talk about MegaUpload and founder Kim Dotcom’s fleet of cars. We also got Ryan to ramble about Bone, Don East to discuss the economics of My Little Pony DVDs, and Scott Lobdell writing that Axe webcomic thing. And, most importantly, the most important My Little Pony news ever…on January 22.

BTW, music notes: The opening is “Uncaged Czarina” by Dan O’Connor, Free Royalty-Free Music by DanoSongs.com. The ending is the glorious MegaUpload song.

Well, you don’t hear me for even five seconds in this episode, since I couldn’t get my microphone. However, this meant I could record the podcast and continue playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword last weekend (if you have a Wii and you don’t own this title already, get it NOW, because it is complete and utter awesome). So, other than the part where everyone imitates the Fonz, I don’t feel that bad for not being able to speak this episode. But enough about me, more about this episode…in BULLET POINTS!

  • A handful of audio issues plagued the beginning of this podcast.
  • This episode is a callback to Not Another Old Cartoon Podcast, for we remember the lovely ride that was Batman: The Brave and the Bold, which was the first series that the NAOCP guys tackle.
  • This episode is also a callback to Notaku Diaries, since we also review the first two episodes of a recent anime series, Majikoi Oh! Samurai Girls!
  • Superflash101 from Twitter joins us for the ride, along with some random Australian dude who sleeps through most of this thing.

P.S. The song at the beginning is Uncaged Czarina, and it shall serve as our theme song. And so we won’t have to pay $10 every time we use it…Free Royalty Free Music by DanoSongs.com.

Remember when I said there is no way I’d post the next episode a few days early to make up for the second episode being late? Yeah, I was lying through my teeth: here’s episode three, a week early! Boomshakalaka! Anyway, this episode is shorter than usual. An hour and five minutes, to be exact. We’re still trying to figure out what to do after we finish covering the main stuff, so please bare with us. That said, what was the main stuff this week? Why, the return of Beavis and Butt-Head for a new generation, as well as new shows Good Vibes and Allen Gregory. TetrisDork also covers the Spider Island miniseries before we end up taking ten minutes to close out the episode (seriously, The Amazing Race is still on-air?). Oh, and Don is tired. But you already knew that.

Never doing this format EVER AGAIN. It was an okay idea, but going through 30 pieces of news and commenting on each individual one gets boring and tedious after a while. The fun has been doubled, my ass…at least, it felt like that when recording. During editing, I enjoyed listening to it as much as I do listening to most other podcasts. Couldn’t find any content that I wanted to cut. I guess I was just out of it that night…however, we still aren’t going this format again. Unless you guys want us to. Seriously guys, comment and tell us. Please. We know you’re out there. The last episode had 36 downloads directly from Archive. And the iTunes downloads are probably more. PLEASE SAY SOMETHING. Oh, and sorry that this episode is a few days late. Had some stuff on my plate and ended up forgetting to edit it last Friday night. RacForce, out.

Sorry for the extreme lateness, as this was supposed to be up last week. Either way, Tomato and Elliot did tackle all the #1 issues of the New 52. As quoted by Elliot for this episode:

Join us for the 4th and final week of the #1′s where we discuss Aquaman, All Star Western, Fury of Firestorm, and Justice League Dark; Do we love these comics? Can Gail Simone go two for two? Did the insanity that was the strip club make us rage when we reached Voodoo #1. Is Diane as crazy as me and Tomato? This weeks Diane “Tranimation” Tran
The Following contains strong language and may not be suitable for all ears. But you know you’re going to anyway so listen away

Title card art is by Jermey Conrad. This episode’s guest, Diane Tran, also has a DeviantArt account. The theme song used for this episode is “Euphoric Ecstasy” by DJ Link (free on NewGrounds | NG Profile | SoundCloud). If you are or represent DJ Link and believe that this isn’t FairUse, contact Elliot on Twitter or via email (shadowsofthought@gmail.com).

Okay, here it is! The official first episode of the ScratchCast! TomatoSurprise was supposed to be in this episode, but he wasn’t, so screw him. However, Ryan Mead wanted in, so heck yeah, episode one guest star! The key issues discussed here include TetrisDork’s trip to Anime Weekend Atlanta, my review of My Life Me and how wrong I am, DC Nation news, Barnes & Noble getting pissed at DC, and the death of Steve Jobs. But it wouldn’t be the Scratch Pad Cast if we didn’t go on weird tangents, like trying to make sense of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn, or if Warner Bros. is trolling Don East. We also manage to connect Steve Jobs’ death to My Little Pony…yeah, we can be pretty weird sometimes.

The most important thing about this, however, is the fact that this is an attempt at a regularly updated podcast. Every other week, to be precise. I’ll try to post new episodes no later than a week after they’re recorded (this was recorded on Sunday), and I hope to keep to that for much longer than we did with Notaku Diaries or Not Another Old Cartoon Podcast. With that said, the podcast feed has been renamed to ScratchCast as well. I think that’s it, so listen and enjoy. RacForce, out.

Elliot Shade has created a bonus side-episode of Reboot Recovery called, well, Reboot Supplemental. Here, let him explain:

Join me Elliot Shade with my friend Diane N Tran, as we discuss.. i.e Rage over the new Catwoman Title by Judd Winick; why do we hate it so much? Well listen in, I swear you can hear us ripping it apart literally.
Forewarning THIS PODCAST CONTAINS VULGAR LANGUAGE AND THINGS OF THE NATURE THAT YOU WILL WANT TO CHOKE ME FOR IF YOU’RE A PRUDE

After the break is the quote Judd made that Elliot mentioned. The title art was made by Diane Tran. The song used is “Catwoman” by Anastasia Midnight (download the song | Twitter | YouTube). Again, LANGUAGE WARNING!
