In 1952, MAD was an American humor magazine founded by editor Harvey Kurtzman and publisher William Gaines. In 1995, MAD became a sketch comedy TV series called MADtv. In 2010, MAD was announced to become a cartoon series to air in September on Cartoon Network. Who knew until that anonymous day that MAD would be a cartoon? For those who fantasized it, this is a dream come true. Hello ladies and gentlemen, ToonFaithful here and I want to give you my thoughts about a brand spanking new cartoon called MAD.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and using the iconic MAD magazine, published by DC Comics, as inspiration, MAD is an animated sketch-comedy series utilizing a chaotic mix of animation styles and twisted humor to pull back the curtain and expose the truth behind movies, TV shows, games, pop culture and, of course, curtains! Classic MAD magazine characters and features such as Alfred E. Neuman and Spy vs. Spy pop up, and no subject matter or individual will be safe from MAD’s barrage of parodies and sketches. In the end, viewers won’t get even, they’ll just get MAD! Sam Register (Teen Titans, Ben 10, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) is the executive producer. Kevin Shinick (Robot Chicken) and Mark Marek (KaBlam! The Andy Milonakis Show) are the producers. Here guys, check out this video about the show:
I think it will be good and that it will succeed in the ratings. The skits are looking good, that “Bieber Bowl” segment was hilarious because it’s true, his hair does look like a bowl cut lol. For all the people who are worrying about Spy vs. Spy, don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll both be in the show. I like that they are mixing the animation just like Sym-Bionic Titan(2-D & CGI). It looks really, really good and Kevin Shinick said that half of the people left the room, I wonder why, it’s probably the mix of animation, who knows. Besides, if I was there I wouldn’t have left the room and plus, being at the Comic Con would be a dream come true.
The show is coming out in September guys, I know, there’s a lot of stuff going on in that month so try to fit some time in and watch the show because it looks promising. That’s pretty much all I have to say, tell me what you think about the show.
